The EAP Toolkit is a comprehensive online learning resource designed to help students to develop English language and study skills at higher education institutions.
If you are studying at an institution with a licence to use the EAP Toolkit, you can access all of the resources it contains for free. Your institution will give you access to the Toolkit either via our website or through their Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). You should have been given details about this, but if not then please contact a member of staff at your institution. If you are studying at an institution that does not have a licence, you can access sets of resources from the EAP Toolkit using our Pay, Access and Learn system.
Frequently-asked questions
We recommend a minimum English level equivalent to a 5.0 IELTS average, although a 5.5 average is strongly recommended for the majority of our materials. The Toolkit is ideal both for international students and those with English as a first language.
The Toolkit is free for students to use at licensing institutions.
Students covered by an institutional licence do not need to pay to use our resources. Licences start at £5 for a single-user licence to a selection of resources via our Pay, Access and Learn system, and from £1600 for institutional licences.

Each learning object contains 30-45 minutes of learning material, so you can study one at a time or several over the course of a day.
Each activity has feedback which you can use to check your answers and monitor your progress. Use this to make notes, and to decide which activities to retry if you have struggled with any.
After some time has passed, you should repeat any activities that you feel you need to revise, to ensure that you can remember what you have learnt.
